Honest advisory, at the pace of your business
Cafeto was built around one idea: that small business owners deserve the same quality of thinking that large firms take for granted — without the overhead, the jargon, or the pressure.
← Back to HomeA consulting practice built for the corner shop, not the boardroom
Cafeto started in Medellín in 2019, when its founders noticed something that bothered them: the businesses that most needed good advice — the tiendas, the small workshops, the independent service providers — were the ones least likely to get it. Formal consulting was priced for larger companies, and the alternatives tended to be generic or rushed.
So we set up something different. A small practice with a deliberate pace. Sessions that feel more like a quiet conversation over tinto than a formal review. Notes that are written to be kept, not filed away. Advice that stays grounded in the real constraints of running a one- or two-person operation in Colombia.
The name comes from the cafeto plant — the coffee shrub that takes years to mature before it produces anything worth picking. We like that idea. Real improvement in a small business rarely happens overnight, and we have never pretended otherwise.
Today, Cafeto works with founders, market vendors, artisans, and independent professionals across Antioquia. Each engagement is shaped around the person in front of us, not a standard template.

Our standards in practice
Written summaries
Every session ends with a short written record — notes you keep, not a report that gets emailed and forgotten.
Confidentiality
Information you share stays with Cafeto. We do not discuss client details with other clients or third parties.
No upselling
We recommend the service that fits your situation. If you need only one session, that is what we suggest.
Focused scope
We stay within what we know well: small firm operations, pricing, cash flow, and daily routines. No vague big-picture promises.
Punctual sessions
We start and end on time. Your schedule is a resource we treat with care — every minute of a session is used well.
Regular review
We check in on the usefulness of our advice. If something we recommended does not fit, we adapt without defensiveness.
Advisory that fits how small businesses actually work
Most advisory services are designed with medium-sized companies in mind. The formats, the deliverables, and the fees reflect that. Cafeto was built specifically for the other end of the scale — the one- to five-person operation where the owner handles sales, delivery, and administration at the same time.
Working with that kind of business calls for a different approach. Advice needs to be brief enough to act on quickly. Sessions need to fit around irregular schedules. Written outputs need to be short enough to actually read. At Cafeto, those constraints shape everything we do.
Our experience spans retail, food production, personal services, trades, and small-scale manufacturing — a range that gives us a practical sense of how cash flow, pricing, and daily habits interact in very small firms. We bring that context to every engagement, while remaining clear that each business is its own situation.
